  1. Monday was a musical day indeed in Malaysia when Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak met with Yuvan Shankar Raja, the internationally-acclaimed young Indian composer and singer.

Najib thanked Yuvan for gracing the Kuala Lumpur International Indian Music Festival held on Saturday, 15 December 2012 in Bukit Jalil, where he also gave a rousing performance much to the delight of his fans.

While Najib had to miss the event on Saturday due to a prior official engagement, he invited Yuvan to Putrajaya before he returned to India.

Yuvan’s father, who is the illustrious musical genius, Illaiyaraja also performed at the event.

Giving credit to Tourism Malaysia for playing a vital role in organising the event that enabled thousands of Yuvan’s fans in Malaysia to enjoy his unique performance, Najib noted that the event was a success with a strong turnout of about 30,000 people.

Yuvan conveyed his father’s best wishes and regards to the Prime Minister, who reciprocated and sends his regards to Illaiyaraja.
